Viola Campground in Missouri

RV DESTINATION- VIOLA CAMPGROUND, Missouri

Viola Campground, on Table Rock Lake, in SW Missouri, is an Army Corp of Engineers campground that offers 56 campsites. Campground amenities include electric and water hookups, hot showers, drinking water, a dump station, a playground, and a swimming area.

Viola Campground offers visitors other recreational activities, such as boating, fishing, picnicking, scuba diving, and wildlife viewing. Kings River Marina, located in the Viola Recreation Area sells fishing licenses, offers fuel, equipment rentals, boat storage, and a restaurant that is open sometimes. Sites have the standard picnic table, fire ring, and lantern post. Cell reception (Verizon) was good.

My only complaint about the campground, is that it offers no good view of the lake. All you see is the marina. Also, I couldn’t find any hiking trails.

From Shell Knob, Missouri, take Highway 39 south for 7 miles and turn west to campground entrance. Latitude 36° 33′ 42.0001″ N, Longitude 93° 35′ 40.9999″ W

THE JOURNEY

After a long day’s journey, with the day beginning to fail, our hero sought a short and peaceful rest. Sad is the day, when the journey is longer than the repose, when the hardships of the journey larger than the tranquility.

But, suddenly, the fair maiden screeched a warning of troubles in the throne room.

Our hero leapt to his feet, squared his shoulders, and set his jaw like flint. “Fear not, fair maiden!”, our hero exclaimed, while putting on his rubber battle gloves.

It was time to do battle with the Black Knight.
